About us

Whether its fashion, gifts or every day essentials you’re after, Market Walk, in the heart of Chorley town centre, has it all. With over 30 shops along an outdoor parade, there’s something for everyone and all at great prices.

Shopping in Market Walk couldn’t be easier. There’s a wide variety of well-known brands and plenty going on throughout the year to keep the whole family entertained.

There’s excellent parking facilities right on the doorstep with cheap parking during the week and free parking after 1pm Saturday, all day Sunday and Bank Holidays. Chorley’s bus interchange and railway station are just next door too.

In 2013, Chorley Council purchased Market Walk with ambitious plans to develop the mall and bring even more shops and retail space to Chorley town centre.

There are lots of improvements happening right across Chorley town centre and Market Walk is a vital part of giving shoppers exactly what they want from their high street.

With its well-known brands, busy markets and high quality independents, Chorley town centre has a lot to offer and Chorley Council is Making it Happen, when it comes to investing and improving in the town centre.

Extension Plan

Market Walk shopping centre, in the heart of Chorley town centre, is being extended with a purpose-built development on the Flat Iron. The extension, off Union Street, will include a new six-screen Reel Cinema, as well as retailers and food and beverage outlets.

Initial ground preparation work for the extension to Market Walk is almost complete and we are in discussions with several businesses interested in coming to Chorley.

In January 2018 councillors gave the final go ahead for the scheme, which also includes creating a second storey car park on Friday Street/Portland Street.

The next few months will see us finalise interior designs for teh extension as well as get all the new car parking in place, which will mean we have more car parking spaces than we had before any of the work started to take place.

We expect work to start on the extension building itself in the summer with an expected opening date of late 2019 in time for the Christmas shopping period.

Once we have a more detailed timeline of activity we will post the information on here.

As a result of all this work, the Tuesday market has relocated to the streets of Chorley. This has proved popular so far with traders and shoppers saying it has been an improvement – we’ll continue to monitor this and please let us know what you think.
