Market Walk Extension Plans

Market Walk shopping centre, in the heart of Chorley town centre, is being extended with a purpose-built development on the Flat Iron. The extension, off Union Street, will include a new six-screen Reel Cinema, an M&S Foodhall, including click and collect, as well as retailers and food and beverage outlets.

Work has started on site with the extension opening in time for the 2019 Christmas shopping period.

Town Centre Improvements

A lot of work will be taking place throughout the rest of this year with the extension due to open at the start of December:

• Construction of the Market Walk extension started in October 2018

• The new crossing over the by-pass has been completed to make access easier

• The new two-level Friday Street car park is open offering 300+ spaces

• Free wifi is available using the ‘Check Out Chorley’ network

There is currently work taking place on Union Street, which means people will need to access the Flat Iron car park, via a different route until Tuesday 21 May.

More detailed information on this work and regular updates will be posted on Chorley Council’s website here.
